Top Target/Walmart Finds: Fragrance-Free Skincare Edition

Drugstore skincare can sometimes get a bad reputation because of it's price point, and how simple and “boring” it may seem. I personally think some of the best cleansers and moisturizers come out of the drugstore, and it can be just as effective as any of the expensive items on the market. I want to help you find really amazing high quality products that are not just affordable, but very beneficial to your skin. Here is a list of my top skincare finds from Target and Walmart that are free of irritants and fragrance, and will leave your skin looking and feeling luxurious.

Unscented Simple Micellar Cleansing Water

If you are someone that uses micellar water to remove makeup and sunscreen, you should definitely pick up the unscented micellar cleansing water from Simple. It contains no harsh ingredients and very gentle, which is perfect for those with sensitive skin. It also does an effective job at unclogging pores as well as cleansing the skin of dirt and impurities, while still providing great hydration. All you need to do is pour an adequate amount of product onto a dry and clean cotton pad, and then gently swipe it throughout your face until there is no makeup or residual dirt left. You may need to do this a few times as one cotton pad may not be enough, and it may not remove everything if you are wearing a full face of makeup with waterproof mascara, glitter eyeshadows, matte lipstick, etc. However, it will definitely remove sunscreen and makeup if you wear a light amount. Personally, I don't think any micellar in general removes makeup as well as say a cleansing oil or balm, but the Simple Cleansing Water is probably one of the best from an ingredient standpoint. It has niacinamide, which helps minimize pores, and Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, which helps relieve inflamed skin and calm sensitive skin. It also has a water soluble form of Vitamin C called Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, so there are some skin brightening properties in this product as well.

If you are looking for a cleansing oil from Target that will really dig deep into the skin to remove even the most stubborn of makeups, I would definitely check out the DHC Cleansing Oil. It does have fragrance so it may be irritating to the skin if you are sensitive to that, but if you aren't, fragrance is okay if it's in wash off products.

CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser

If you need an acne fighting product that cleans deep into your pores, the Cerave Renewing Salicylic Acid Cleanser is a must! This is probably my most repurchased cleanser of all time because of its effectiveness and price. It is formulated with salicylic acid, which helps clear acne by exfoliating oily skin and penetrating deep to really clear up clogged pores. This cleanser softens and helps restore the skin’s natural barrier with three essential ceramides, hydrates with hyaluronic acid and minimizes pores with niacinamide. It has no irritating ingredients and does wonders in protecting the skin from future breakouts.

Simple Micellar Facial Gel Wash

The Simple Micellar Gel Wash is a really great cleanser with a simple and gentle ingredient list that is non irritating and non stripping to the skin. It is infused with skin-essential minerals and plant extract that delivers instant hydration and gentle yet effective cleansing. It’s a very basic cleanser that is probably one of the most affordable on the market. It’s great for beginners, but it’s also perfect for those that need to take a step back from all the fancy products they used, that aren’t delivering results, and just reset their skin.

La Roche Posay Hydrating Cleanser

The La Roche Posay Hydrating Cleanser is a very hydrating and soothing cleanser perfect for those with dry skin. It contains hydrating ingredients like glycerin and hyaluronic acid, and is infused with Prebiotic Thermal Water, which helps reinforce the natural water retention barrier in dry skin by promoting moisturization. It also has Panthenol, which is a soothing agent, and Ceramide-3, which locks in moisture and prevents dryness and irritation. This cleanser has a milky, creamy texture and does a very good job at cleansing the skin without stripping and irritating it.

The Versed Gel Cream is a great lightweight moisturizer for those with more oily skin. It effectively moisturizes, hydrates and plumps up the skin without leaving it feeling heavy or greasy.
